Metta Welfare Association
Metta Welfare Association initiated the Youth Employment Support, comprising of 3 key programmes such as Arts@Metta in 2007, Metta Café in 2014 and ECO@Metta in 2019, to equip Metta School graduates with life skills that promote independence and integration into society.
The programmes aim to increase employment opportunities for Metta School graduates diagnosed with mild intellectual disability with/without autism through comprehensive training and development.
We strive to empower our youths with special needs with life skills that promote integration, independence, and socialisation.
Key Thrusts
- To cultivate the artistic talents of youths with special needs
- To provide a safe, open and nurturing environment where their talents can thrive
- To implement effective training programmes and support services that benefit their holistic development
- To develop a sustainable model of supported employment for these youths
Our programmes enable our youths with special needs to continue their mastery of visual arts and F&B in a creative and inclusive environment, paving avenues for self-expression and personal development.
Through the programme, our youths with special needs will learn to uphold proper decorum and assimilate concepts such as service attitude, work quality, punctuality, task completion, handling of job load and time management.
Besides equipping our youths with special needs with essential life skills, the programmes also create supported employment opportunities by leveraging on commissioned projects to help fund supported employment, thereby empowering them with hope and dignity.
