Synopsis:
‘One Click Away' features an unsuspecting player who enters a digital world where every choice has consequences. Guided through an interactive game, the player is faced with common online traps such as sharing passwords, falling for scams, oversharing personal details, and impulsive online shopping. With every wrong decision made, the hacker strikes and gains, draining the player’s health and money. The health bar symbolises the player’s mental and emotional wellbeing, while the physical injuries are visual metaphors for the damage done by poor digital decisions. This shows us that our online choices do have an impact on our lives and online safety is not a game. You’re always one click away. Don’t let it end with you.
One Click Away, created by students from Commonwealth Secondary School, won 2nd place at the Better Internet Video Challenge 2025.
The Better Internet Video Challenge 2025, organised by Yishun Innova Junior College (Centre of Excellence for Digital Literacies) in collaboration with the Media Literacy Council, invites students to create short films that educate audiences about and advocate for digital safety and wellness.
In response to this year’s theme, “Empowering a Safe and Resilient Online Community,” these young creators showed how everyone can play a part in staying safe online, supporting peers, and responding thoughtfully to online harm.
